UAE-based Gulf News reported that the fire erupted at the factory in Sharjah’s Al Sajja industrial area at about 9pm on Sunday.
“The intensity of the fire was very strong because the materials being burned were extremely flammable,” said Brigadier Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Sharjah Civil Defence.
He also said the fire spread to the adjacent wood workshop but the exact cause has not been established until authorities carry out an investigation.
