Northern Theatre’s eight-day festival will conclude Friday with the staging of the troupe’s “Krishna Shakun,” an adaptation from the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s story “Bhuter Bhoy,” at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Northern University Bangladesh’s theatre wing Northern Theatre has organized the festival with the slogan “Theatre for Change.” Directed by Shawkat Hossain, the play features angels whose obsession for leisure and comfort caused them to lose their angelic powers. A flock of mischievous ghosts takes the chance and captures heaven ousting the angels. The angels become divided in two groups: one group wants to resolve the situation in a peaceful manner while another group wants to take mutinous action against the ghosts.
