Warda Rihab is going to perform Saturday on “Nazrul Utsob 1420” organised by Chhayanaut and Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre. Her performance is based on an inspiring song of Nazul named “Mora Jhonjhar Moto Uddam.” Shivasistuti is an invocation of Lord Shiva. Composed by Bimbavati Devi, this item is based on the tandava aspect of Manipuri dance.
While talking about performing in Nazrul Joyonti, Warda informs the Dhaka Tribune:
“I will present segmented dance pieces on “Nazrul Utsob” at Chhayanaut auditorium, and a monipuri classical called ‘Shivastuty’ at IGCC Saturday. In the birth anniversary of Nazrul our National Poet, we are not celebrating his contributions to our culture enough. There is really very small space to work on his stories and poems. Every one oragnises different musical shows with only a few dance items. But dance also have the capability to present Nazrul’s work, as it is full of life and energy.
Our new generation needs to know more about his philosophy as it can be a great source of inspiration to map out their life. Nazrul and his works are an idol in itself. Since we claim the prodigy as our National Poet, his birth anniversary should be celebrated on a much larger scale.”
