Krishna Chandra Ray, 42, son of Amulyo Chandra Ray of Daudpur Bazar, and Abdul Baten, 46, son of Abul Kashem of Malpara village of the upazila, were friends.
Local sources said the two friends became sick after drinking the toxic liquor on Sunday night, but their family members did not take them to hospital.
Later, Krishna died around 12:30am and Baten at about 12:45am.
Officer-in-Charge of Nababganj police station Ismael Hosain said police visited the area in the morning. No case was filed in this connection.
