As a person, how does Nazrul Islam motivate you?

Nazrul Islam seems to be one of those rare creators who stimulated their moments in every possible way. He wrote the desired lines that portrayed the essence of the life he lived, along with suggestions of rectifying or purifying their life-pattern in a desired manner. His progressive thinking and ideologies encouraged me to make difficult decisions with bold determination.

How are you inspired by Nazrul’s philosophy?

His non-communal spirit and dynamic personality is a source of great inspiration for me. Nazrul evokes the rebellious spirit of an individual with the use of simple words arranged to shake the most timid of personalities.

His “Bidrohi,” where he proclaimed the independence of his own self, finally analogous with individual liberty and collective freedom of the nation called Bangali. His ultimate destination was an inflection of love, justice and liberty of humanity. I think we should be more concerned and follow his philosophy to overcome the religious bigotry currently prevailing in the society.

What you are performing on “Nazrul Joyonti”?

“I love performing onstage and currently I am well occupied with numerous stage shows. I will be appearing on Channel i, ATN, NTV, BTV, Channel 4, Desh TV and many other channels, along with several stage performances on the auspicious occasion.”

Ferdous Ara has been a regular artiste of Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television since 1973 and 1974 respectively and has earned desirable reputation in the field of music on account of her imaginative excellence. Many cassettes and CDs of her music have been released during her long musical career.

In 1985, Sargam released her first cassette comprising of 12 Nazrul songs while in 1986 Nazrul Institute brought out her long play and cassette. Besides, 10 more cassettes on Modern Bangla songs were subsequently released that gained instant popularity among the music lovers across the world.
