Eminent journalist, Ihsanul Karim Helal, has been appointed the president’s new press secretary.
The public administration ministry issued an order yesterday appointing him the press secretary to the president in a contractual appointment.
He will be replacing Nesar Uddin Ahmed. Sources said Nesar uddin would be placed under the public administration ministry while he awaits another appointment.
Ihsanul Karim Helal has been working in the state-owned news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) for a long time. He has served as chief editor and managing director of BSS.
