A Shibir man was killed in a “shootout” between his cohort and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel near Wireless Tower Amjad intersection of Binodpur area of the district early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shahadat Hossain, a cadre of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Rab-5 media wing confirmed the matter over a short massage service (SMS) at 4:19am, reports banglanews.
Meanwhile, Rab personnel recovered a pistol, a magazine, six cocktails and three bottles of patrols from the spot.
