President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and main opposition leader Khaleda Zia have congratulated rescuers for rescuing Reshma Begum, a victim of collapsed Rana Plaza, 17 days into the country’s deadliest building collapse.
Reshma was rescued Friday afternoon from under the ruins of the eight-storey building that collapsed on April 24, trapping more than three thousands of people inside.
The premier rushed to the Savar Combined Military Hospital and enquired about her health hours after Reshma rescued form the rubbles.
She directed the physicians and others concerned to ensure proper treatment of the girl.
In her immediate reaction, the prime minister had expressed her satisfaction and termed the recovery as an unprecedented incident, Mahbubul Haque Shakil, a special assistant (media) to the PM, quoted her as saying.
President Abdul Hamid, in a press statement, greeted all rescuers for their success in rescuing the miracle survivor.
Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed her satisfaction over the rescue of the woman and thanked all involved in the operation.
She also expressed deep gratitude to the Almighty over the rescue of Reshma alive. She also prayed for her early recovery, says a press statement.
In a press release, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, MP, also thanked the army personnel and all other rescuers.
