City road crashes kill 4, hurt 6

At least four people were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in the capital’s Tejgoan industrial and Khilkhet overbridge areas early Friday.

Tejgaon accident

A speedy-driven covered van crashed into the wall of an under-construction wall of a bridge at Tejgaon’s Satrasta crossing at around 1:30am, leaving nine construction workers critically injured.

The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared three construction workers dead.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Mojammel Haque confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

Police seized the van. But, the driver managed to flee the scene.

Khilkhet accident

A recklessly-driven truck rammed a motorbike down in city’s Khilkhet area at around 12am, leaving the biker critically injured, reports banglanews24.com.

He was rushed to DMCH where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

The deceased was identified as Rabiul, 42, son of Faruk Hossain, of Chittagong district.
