10 more bodies pulled out from Savar rubble

Rescuers have pulled out ten more bodies from the debris of the collapsed Rana Plaza in Savar on Monday morning.

According to the Dhaka district administration, the death toll from the collapse stood at 636 with the latest recoveries.

Of them, 627 had been pulled from the wreckage while the rest died in various hospitals after being rescued injured.

Out of the 505 bodies so far handed over to the relatives, 470 were handed over from the various hospitals and the Savar Adharchandra School playground and 35 from various morgues.

The ill-fated eight-storeyRana Plaza in Savar, that housed five readymade garment factories, collapsed on Wednesday, April 24.

Around 2,500 people have so far been rescued alive from the collapse.

Law enforcers have apprehended the four owners of the five factories and the owner of the building.

Rescue authorities could not say for certain how long the operation would have to be continued.
