In an immediate reaction to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s call for dialogue, main opposition BNP said they would sit for a dialogue if they receive a written invitation from the government entertaining the demand for holding national polls under a neutral government.
While briefing journalists at the Naya Paltan party office on Thursday, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, advisor to the BNP chief, said: “Send us a formal written invitation mentioning the agendas for the dialogue. Accept our demand for holding the next national elections under a non-partisan government, putting an end to the bloody conflict.”
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had called upon opposition chief Khaleda Zia to sit for a dialogue anywhere she wanted.
