President pays homage to martyred members of Armed Forces

President Abdul Hamid today paid homage to the members of the Armed Forces, who made the supreme sacrifice during the country’s Liberation War, by placing wreaths at the Shikha Anirban at Dhaka Cantonment.

The president placed the wreaths at the altar of Shikha Anirban and stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the memories of the martyrs of the Liberation War, reports UNB.

Later, Hamid went to Shenakunja at the cantonment where a smartly turned out contingent comprising members of army, navy and air force gave a guard of honor to the new president of the country.

Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Muhammad Farid Habib, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari and Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division Lt General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Haque were present there.

Secretaries concerned of the president office were present.
