Rescue teams pulled 26 survivors from the wreckage of the Rana Plaza building today. With the latest figure, some 2426 people have been rescued alive since the complex collapsed on Wednesday, sources at the Control Room opened there said.
The death toll from the disastrous building collapse here stood at 343 with the recovery of 25 more bodies from the debris of Rana Plaza
Fires service officials said the rescue operation was disrupted due to rain this morning, which also caused sufferings to the victims’ relatives who had long been waiting at Adharchandra School ground in search of their near and dear ones.
However, the rescuers covered the holes of the collapsed building with canvasses and thick polythene during the rain.
