Khaleda visits collapsed building in Savar

Update : 25 Apr 2013, 01:03 PM

Main opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is now in Savar visiting the scene of the building that collapsed yesterday.

She arrived at the spot around 5:30pm, Thursday, wearing a black ribbon on her saree to show respect for those who died in the collapse.

At least 201 people died when the nine-storey Rana Plaza in Savar collapsed on Wednesday, and thousands more were injured.

The army, police, Rab, fire department, government and private organisations as well as local volunteers are running rescue operations, amidst fears that the death toll may rise with many still trapped under the rubbles.
