In a major reshuffle in the police administrations, 69 police officials, a deputy inspector general (DIG) and 18 DIGs have been transferred and given new postings.
The ministry of home has issued an order in this regard on Monday.
The rest of the officials are superintendents of police (SP) and equivalent ranked officers.
Of them, deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Nazibur Rahman who returned from Bangladesh High Commission in India was transferred to the proposed terrorism prevention unit of the Police Headquarters, additional DIG of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Abdullah Al Azad Chowdhury was made additional DIG of criminal investigation department (CID) and joint police commissioner of DMP Khondakar Golam Faruq was made additional DIG of Dhaka Range.
Additional DIG of Noakhali Matiur Rahman Sheikh was transferred to Police Staff College Dhaka while additional DIG of CID Sardar Tomij Uddin Ahmed was made additional DIG of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
Besides, additional DIG of Khulna Range Abul Kalam Azad was made additional DIG of PBI Dhaka; joint police commissioner of DMP Abdullah Al Mahmud was made additional DIG of CID; special police super of CID Moynul Islam (promoted to additional DIG) was made joint police commissioner of DMP; Sirajgang police super Humayun Kabir (promoted to additional DIG) transferred to Rangpur as additional DIG of the range; and special police super of CID Mahbuub Alam was made additional DIG of PBI.
