Veteran journalist Abed Khan resigned as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Editor-in-Chief of ATN News Sunday in protest against what he called “a poisonous work environment and intra-office conspiracies."
Abed Khan, who had joined the news network in July last year, told Dhaka Tribune, “Individuals are not valued at ATN News according to ability and conspiracies flourish like Kashimbazar Kuthi.”
Khan submitted a letter of resignation, obtained by Dhaka Tribune, which detailed his grievances against ATN News.
He said he had been forced to resign to preserve his self-respect.
ATN News officials were not available for comment.
Prior to ATN News, Abed Khan was the editor of Kaler Kantho, Samakal, Jugantor and Bhorer Kagoj.
