A city road crash killed a female singer and injured her friend as a truck hit their CNG- run auto-rickshaw at Satarkul of Badda area early Friday.
Police said the deceased was identified as Khuku Moni alias Maria, 20, and the injured was Runa, 25.
"An unknown truck hit the auto-rickshaw by which they were returning to their residence at Hasnabad of South Keranignaj at about 12:40am after performing a Pahela Baishakh's programme," officer-in-charge (OC) of Badda police station Iqbal Hossain told BSS.
He said Maria was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctor declared her dead at 1:30 am.
She was wife of one Nasir Uddin, hailed from Pallong of Shariatpur district. The truck, however, fled away the scene safely, the OC added.
