Kathmandu hospital mistakes Shahreen for Sharmin

Update : 18 Mar 2018, 11:34 PM
Continued search for all the people on-board Flight BS-211 led to a tip at Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital (KMCTH) where Sharmila, a spokesperson for the hospital, said on Tuesday morning they had a patient called Sharmin in their care from the plane crash. Based on the hospital's claims, several media outlets reported that Sharmin was alive. Later in the evening, when KMCTH authorities were asked to provide updates on Sharmin's condition, they apologized and said the patient's name was Shahreen. Belal Hossain Bablu, Sharmin's brother, arrived in KMCTH. He confirmed that Sharmin Akhter's nickname is Nabila and she also goes by the alias Nabila Farhin.     Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams thanked the Dhaka Tribune for bringing this to her attention and said her office would be looking into the matter of the missing person immediately.
