Mahi returns with Soham in Moyna

The successful Dhallywood actress started her journey, not so long ago, in the industry with Jaaz Multimedia. But after a large number of collaborations with the production house, Mahi finally took a breather and got herself married. This on the other hand created a temporary pause in her acting career. But as it seems the Agnee girl is about to start the second innings of her career. Yesterday, she signed a new movie titled Moyna. Director Ananya Mamun is on board to start shooting for this big budget movie under the banner of Versatile Media. According to a source from the production house, the movie is targeted to release on the occasion of the upcoming Eid. But officials refused to give any confirmation of casting Indian actor Soham, who was speculated to be in it. Arshad Adnan, producer of the film said, “We are planning to release the movie next Eid. Shooting will start from the first week of March.” Adnan assured that Moyna is not an Indo-Bangla venture, rather it is a movie by Versatile Media and Bangladesh. Although full cast for this female-centric, romantic, action flick has not been confirmed yet, according to the officials the selection process is still in progress. Talking about her new deal, Mahi said, “The movie is female-centric. I liked the story as well. I always want to act in movies that deal with female issues and thought-provoking ideas, though it costs me a lot of mental pressure. The success or failure of the movie depends a lot on me, nevertheless, I would like to keep this flow going.” Mahi has engaged herself with some other female-centric movies lately alongside Moyna. She is going to be in the leading role in each of the movies. To name a few, she is acting in the role of Jannat in the movie Jannat, Kajol in Golaptolir Kajol, Meghla in Meghla, Badhon in Premer Badhon and Sundori in Tumi Amar Sundori. If everything goes as planned, Moyna will be the début for Tollywood actor Soham Chakraborty in Dhallywood. Although this is not the first time the Omanush actor has been approached for a role in a Dhallywood movie. In 2015, Mahi approached Soham to join her in a movie under the banner of her own production house Scorpion. They even met in Kolkata to discuss about the movie once. But for some unknown reason the project failed to initiate.
