A fire has broken out in Motaleb Plaza in the capital's Paribagh.
Mozammel Hoque, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters in Dhaka, confirmed it to the Dhaka Tribune.
The fire originated at around 9:40am from electric short circuit in a shop on the third floor of the plaza and soon engulfed the nearby shops.
A total of 12 fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 11:50am.
