Ariful Hasnat, Aff M ASCE, faculty member of Civil Engineering Department, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) he has been selected as one of the "New Faces of Civil Engineering" in 2016 by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is the first Bangladeshi to have this prestigious honour. Since 2002, ASCE has been honouring rising civil engineers under the age of 30 who are already making notable contributions to the profession and to society. According to an ASCE press release, the award “promotes the bold and humanitarian future of civil engineering by highlighting the achievements of young civil engineers, their contributions to and impact on society.” Hasnat’s contribution will be featured in a video which will be officially recognised during ASCE's annual Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Gala on March 17, 2016. Today he is a senior lecturer in civil engineering at the University of Asia Pacific, and one of 10 New Faces of Civil Engineering Professionals for 2016, chosen by ASCE.
