Bangladesh confirms first case of Zika virus
Bangladesh has reported its first confirmed case of the Zika virus in a 67-year old male in Chittagong.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malik made the disclosure at a press briefing at his office in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Two people have been injured as police shot them while they attempted to rig votes at a polling centre in Kumira union under Tala upazila of Satkhira district.
The incident took place when supporters of an Awami League chairman candidate tried to cast votes in his favour at Vaghbah polling centre early on Tuesday.
Polling officer shot in Noakhali
Miscreants have shot the polling officer of a polling centre in Hatiya upazila of Noakhali district.
The injured is Shahadat Hossain, the polling officer of Chorking Girls' High School.
Voting postponed at 15 Satkhira, Bhola centres
Authorities concerned have postponed voting at 15 polling stations in Satkhira and Bhola districts on Tuesday in the face of desperate rigging moves and clashes.
In Satkhira, polling stations at Bhagbaho, Ovoitola and Datpur in Kumira Union under Tala upazila; Alipur, Mahmudpur, Bhadukhali Government Primary School and Aminia Dhakil Madrasa under the Sadar upazila; Kolatopi in Kusudanga union under Kolaroa upazila; Khejurbaria in Parulia union under Devhata upazila, and Mehedinagar, Mahjanpur and Purbokhali Government Primary School under Shyamnagar upazila are underoing the temporary suspension.

4 suspected militants held in Dhaka
Detective Branch (DB) of police have detained four suspected militants from the capital's Kalyanpur bus stand area in Mirpur.
The identities of the detainees could not be ascertained yet.

A BNP-backed chairman candidate of Union Parishad has allegedly been attacked by Awami League men in Roshunia union under Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district.
Abdul Khalek Shikdar was attacked at the polling centre in Roshunia High School on Tuesday morning.
Clashes leave 9 injured at Lakshmipur polling centres
At least nine people have been injured as some supporters of member candidates at two union parishads under Kamalnagar upazila in Lakshmipur were locked in a clash over the seize of polling stations.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning.
Voting begins in first phase UP polls
Voting in the first phase election at 717 Union Parishads has begun.
The voting began around 8am on Tuesday. Voters will cast their votes till 4pm without a break.
Obama and Castro spar over human rights
Cuban president Raul Castro and US President Barack Obama sparred over human rights issues including the American prison at Guantanamo Bay and Cuba's political prisoners.
At a historic news conference, Mr Castro said if he was given a list of political prisoners, he would "release them tonight".
