Irrfan Khan, the star who has shone through some of Bollywood and Hollywood’s greatest films like Billu Barbar, Life of a Pi, Jurassic World, The Lunchbox, and Slumdog Millionaire, met the press on Friday, March 18, in Dhaka.
Irrfan came to Dhaka to shoot for the film Doob, a film by popular Bangladeshi director Mostafa Sarwar Farooki. The Indian actor plays the lead role opposite to Nusrat Imrose Tisha, making his debut in a Bangladeshi film.
Irrfan was asked whether he would be interested to work with other Bangladeshi directors and the seasoned actor replied saying: “As an actor, I am always in search of opportunities. But I cannot tell for sure whether I would work in a Bangladeshi film again in the future.”
“I am enjoying my time shooting for the film. Sometimes I forget that I am in a foreign land. It feels like I am travelling somewhere around my country. I am gathering a great experience working with Farooki and other co-stars of the film. But I do not know what would happen in future,” he further elaborated.
Irrfan answered questions from the reporters in both English and Bangla. Tisha, Rokeya Prachi and Parno Mittra were present at the event held at Dhaka’s hotel Le Meridien.
Irrfan shared that he had laughed his heart out while watching Farooki’s Piprabidya. The actor is fond of Rabindra Sangeet and likes Arnob amongst the Bangladeshi musicians.
“Although I am the co-producer, I would like to abide by the Farooki’s directions in this film,” he told reporters.
