Samsung Climate Control Co. Ltd., a South Korean diversified industrial equipment manufacturing company is set to invest in Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park, Gazipur.
Bangladesh TechnoSity Limited, the Developer and Operator of Block 3 of Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park, signed a Strategic Co-operation Agreement recently at Dhaka.
Moynul Haque Siddiqui, chairman of Bangladesh TechnoSity Limited, and Ko Ho-Kon, chairman of Samsung Climate Co. Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of their companies.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Affairs Chairman Imran Ahmed, Secretary to the ICT Division Shyam Sundor Shikdar were, among others, present at the signing ceremony.
Through signing the agreement, Samsung Climate Control Co. Ltd. will expand its business in Bangladesh market and establish a number of manufacturing units in Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park, Gazipur. Bangladesh TechnoSity Limited is the strategic partner to collaborate on the opportunities in Bangladesh.
Established in 1954 and based in Changwon, South Korea, Samsung Climate Control Co. Ltd. is listed on the Korea Stock Exchange.
The company engages in the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) of modular cooling systems, oil coolers, inter coolers, radiators, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers, condensers and transmissions, which are used for automobiles and electricity and gas meters used in residential buildings and commercial facilities.
The company distributes its products within the domestic South Korean market and exports to overseas markets such as America, Europe and South-East Asia.
Earlier, Bangladesh TechnoSity Limited signed a Concession Agreement with Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) to design, build, finance, own, operate & transfer Block 3 of Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park in Gazipur which will become the first full-fledged Hi-Tech Park of Bangladesh.
The company has started construction on October 2015 and is committed to delivering the first Multi-Tenant Building of Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park by first quarter, 2017.
