Palak nominated young global leader

The World Economic Forum has nominated State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak as the Young Global Leader 2016, BSS reported.

The forum has announced the name of Zunaid Ahmed Palak and other most distinguished leaders under the age of 40 at their website this evening. 

"I am honored for this prestigious recognition by the World Economic Forum that would allow the extensive opportunity to connect with the global diverse community," Palak said in his reaction.

The World Economic Forum has nominated Palak as one of the 12 leaders in the South Asia region. Palak is the second Bangladeshi who has been nominated as Young Leader. 

Zafar Sobhan, currently the editor of Daily Dhaka Tribune, was the first to be nominated as the Young Global Leader in 2005 from Bangladesh.

Palak was elected Member of the Parliament in 2008 at the age of 28-year-old and re-elected in 2014. He was sworn in as a state minister on January 12, 2014 at the age of 34 years which made him as the youngest member of the cabinet.

He has shown great commitment to promote IT/ITeS industry, innovation and IT entrepreneurship and expand e-governance and e-service delivery platform in Bangladesh.
