Shandhani Bangladesh approached Office of Co-Curricular Activities and BRAC University Medical Unit to arrange a blood donation campaign on Monday, March 14. Ivan Shafaat Bari, director of OCA and OCSAR gladly accepted the proposal as this creates a platform for students who want to be socially responsible. One bag blood of any student can save millions of lives. This type of campaigns let students contribute to the society more and become a socially responsible human being. BRAC University thrives to create minds that are not only academically remarkable but also socially responsible. The response of the students was outstanding. Students from different departments like the BRAC Business School, ESS, EEE, LLB, MNS, ARC, and Pharmacy encouraged others to save lives by donating just one bag of blood. Moreover, director of OCA also set an example by giving a full bag of blood to inspire all the other employees and students. At the end, 70 blood bags were collected by the efficient volunteers of Shandhani Bangladesh, Dhaka Medical Unit. This is by far the highest number of blood bag collection recorded at BRAC University in a single day!
