Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Tollywood beauty Srabonti Chatterjee have been paired up for Shikari, a joint production between India and Bangladesh.
Khan, who is a leader of protest against projection of Indian films in Bangladesh, has made his debut in a joint production with this film.
“I was always in favour of joint productions,” said Khan.
Khan said: “I am so excited and hopeful about the film. It has a very nice story and the planning has been done with care. I hope Shikari will be the most commercially successful movie among all the movies jointly made by this duo.”
Bangladeshi Jazz Multimedia and Indian SK Movies have produced the film.
“Many legendary films were previously made when the artists, directors and technicians of the two countries worked together. That trend will restart with Shikari,” Khan said.
Zakir Hossain Shimanto and Kolkata’s Joydeb Mukherjee have directed the film. Abdullah Jahir Babu from Bangladesh and Pele Chatterjee from Kolkata have written the story.
Shakib Khan is currently in Kolkata, continuing shooting for the film.
