A Dhaka court has granted five days of remand to an assistant sub-inspector of Bangshal police for shooting a cable operator in the capital’s Khilgaon area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Pronab Kumar Bhui passed the remand order on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Investigating Md Anwar Hossain filed a 10-day remand plea with the court.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon after the cable operator and the police official locked in an altercation over paying the dues of cable television.

A team of Bangshal police later arrested the ASI, Shamim Reza, and handed him over to Khilgaon police.
Victim Al-Amin was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with a bullet wound on his back immediately after the incident.
