Committee: 9th grade pay at entry level

Update : 10 Mar 2016, 08:04 PM

The cabinet committee to resolve pay scale disparities has decided that the entry level pay for newly appointed all cadre, non cadre and directly appointed  officer-level staff at different government owned organisations will be set at the ninth grade.

The cadre officers however, will receive additional payments compared to non-cadres.

The cabinet committee yesterday disclosed those decisions after a meeting at finance division auditorium, presided over by Finance Minister AMA Muhith. Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Public Administration Secretary Dr Kalam Abu Nasir and Senior Finance Secretary Mahbub Ahmed also attended the meeting.

After the meeting the finance minister told reporters the cabinet committee had discussed three issues of disparity in the new pay scale.

“Two of the issues were technical. We have changed the entry level pay for cadre and non-cadre officers in the two grades, eighth and ninth,” he said.

Minister said the issues of salary disparity of public university teachers will be resolved in the next cabinet committee meeting.

Finance Secretary Mahbub Ahmed said after this decision there would be no pay disparities at entry level positions.
