The government has appointed Iqbal Mahmud, former senior secretary of Economic Relations Division, as the chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission.
Additional secretary of Cabinet Division, Maksudur Rahman Patwari, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune. A gazette notification was also issued yesterday regarding the appointment.
Iqbal Mahmud will get salary, allowances, facilities and status like a judge of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division, reads the gazette.
Iqbal Mahmud will replace Md Badiuzzaman as the ACC chief. Besides, AFM Aminul Islam has also been appointed as an ACC commissioner.
