Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday asked the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority to build up the Kaliakoir Hi Tech Park as a complete ICT city protecting the ecological aspects of the area.
She gave the directives in the first meeting of the governing body of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority at her office on Wednesday.
Sheikh Hasina said her government in a meeting of Bangladesh Board of Investment (BoI) in 1999 decided to construct the Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park aimed at boosting hi-tech IT industries to create job and fetch foreign investment. “The park would be important hub for export and meet up local demand.”
Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Hosne Ara Begum gave a presentation on the progress of the implementation of the hi-tech parks.
