Jagannath University Journalist Association has awarded Dhaka Tribune crime reporter Mohammad Jamil Khan for his outstanding performance on the field of investigative reporting on university affairs.
JnU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah handed over the crest to Jamil on Tuesday at JnU central auditorium on behalf of the journalist association.
The association arranged the crest distributing ceremony marking it's 10th founding anniversary.
SM Al-Amin, JnU Journalist Association president, presided over the ceremony while noted journalist Mustafiz Safi read out the key note.
Secretary of the association Mabub Momtazi moderated the programme title “Role of Media in Good Governance.”
The association had handed over crests to three other journalists for playing important role in the same field.
They are Shuvonkor Shuvo of the daily Prothom Alo, Sadiqul Islam Nieugi Ponney of the daily Jugantor and Arif Hossain of Chanel 9.
Besides, fifteen founding members and leaders of the association also received the award for their efforts in establishing the organisation.
