Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir is arriving Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon on a brief official visit at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart AH Mahmood Ali.
During his short stay in Dhaka, the Saudi foreign minister is expected to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS.
This is the first ever visit by a Saudi foreign minister during the tenure of a democratic government in Bangladesh.
Adel is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on all aspects of bilateral and global issues of mutual interest.
It was decided during the visit of Bangladesh foreign minister to Saudi Arabia in January this year that Bangladesh prime minister may undertake a visit to the kingdom between March and May this year at a mutually convenient date.
Concluding his short visit, the Saudi foreign minister will depart Dhaka at 9pm on the day. Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will see his Saudi counterpart off at the airport, the spokesperson added.
