The umpires will inspect the ground after the rain stops and take the final decision whether the match will be held or not, it added.

A five-over game can start is either 10:40pm or 10:46pm, forecasted the news outlet. However, it is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier in the evening, a dust storm accompanied by a massive rain hit Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium a few moments before the grand finale of the Asia Cup T20 2016.

Floodlights went out and darkness engulfed the entire ground soon after the storm began.

Moments after commentator Ramiz Raja did the pitch report, groundstaff ran towards the centre with covers, much to the frustration of the weekday crowd in Mirpur.

Despite the presence of covers, the Bangladesh cricketers put the final touch to their preparation near the boundary rope.
