Chittagong University yesterday observed world wildlife festival through a daylong programme on the campus. Marking the day, CU’s Zoology department and CU Birds Club jointly organised the programme inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury.
Founder Chairman of zoology department Professor Safiq Haidar presided over the programme while CU Biological Faculty’s dean Prof Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman, Prokiti O Jibon Foundation’s Chairman Mukit Mazumdar Babu, CUBC’s founder president Enam Al Haque and Prof Manzurul Kibria attended the function.
Speakers at the programme said people have to come forward to save the wildlife and nature for sake of their own interest as the world was now putting in a great risk because of ecological imbalance and wild animals’ extinction. The programme featured rally, drawing competition and wildlife related quiz competition and birds’ photo exhibition.
