Khan Academy of Bangladesh-origin US citizen Salman Khan, which gained popularity around the world for providing internet-based lessons by educational video clips, has recently launched the Bangla version of its contents.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, as the chief guest, inaugurated the Bangla portal of Khan Academy in a hotel in the capital on Tuesday, saying the initiative of Salman Khan is praiseworthy and there is no doubt in ensuring the quality in the Bangla version.
The version is available at http://bn.khanacademy.org. Grameen Phone and Agami Education Foundation support to the journey of making the Bangla version from English.

In a video message presented there, Khan Academy Founder Salman Khan said: “My family is from Bangladesh and converting Khan Academy's tutorials into Bangla in this country is our great achievement.”
GP Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Sethi, Agami Foundation President Prof Masihuzzaman and its Bangladesh unit Director (pragrammes) Dilruba Chowdhury addressed the event, among others.
Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org) is a non-profit educational organisation created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan to provide "a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere".
It provides free online materials and resources to support personalised education for learners of all ages.
The Khan Academy platform contains practice exercises, instructional videos, dashboard analytics and teacher tools which empower learners in and outside of the classroom to study at their own pace.
