Two police officials have been killed when a truck ran them over while they were trying to stop the truck for checking its goods in Kansat Pukuria area under Shibganj Upazila in Chapainawabganj.
The deceased were identified as Sub-Inspector Sadekul Islam, son of Abdus Sattar, of Phulbari upazila in Dinajpur, and police sergeant Ataul Islam, son of Md Shahjahan Mia, of Dirati Sutirgahat in Joypurhat.
Shibganj police station OC MM Moinul Islam confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
The accident took place around 5:30am on Thursday in the area while they were chasing a truck to check the goods it was carrying.
Police recovered the bodies around 6am and send it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
