On February 25, North South University organised the very first seminar based on MIS and its importance on daily life. MIS stands for Management Information Systems, and is still in its growth stage in Bangladesh.
The seminar was hosted by Ashik Imran Khan, senior lecturer of North South University in association with the NSU MIS Club. The event was titled Hi-Tech Furniture presents “The Inside Info: Information Systems Building The Youth for Tomorrow,” powered by Robi Axiata Limited.
The speakers were Imran Fahad, founder of Core Global; Kishwar Sayeed, ex human resource head of BRAC and Tabassum Salsabil Chowdhury, lead educator of Microsoft Corporation. Mahjabeen Khaled, member of parliament and AK Faiyazul Haque Razu, chairman of Sher-e-Bangla Foundation were the guests of honour at the seminar.
Beginning with a short video about the NSU MIS club, Ashik Imran Khan explained the idea about how information systems has become a necessity and within five years, traditional systems will be replaced by information systems. He also encouraged the students to take MIS as their major.
