Ansarullah's new den busted in capital

Update : 28 Feb 2016, 10:08 AM

Law enforcers have busted a new den of banned radical Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team in the capital’s Dakkhinkhan area and recovered a seizable cache of hand bombs and bomb making materials.

Mashruqure Rahman Khaled, deputy commissioner of DB Police (South), confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the recovery of explosives.

He said: “As part of our ongoing crackdown on militants, a joint team of detectives and the members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit raided a house in Dakkhinkhan and recovered two hand bombs and a good cache of bomb making materials.

“But, sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the militants fled the scene immediately.”

However, the joint team members detained the security guard of the building for quizzing, said the DB official.

“The drive was conducted as per the information provided by the previous arrestees,” he added.

The detectives are suspecting that the house was being used as the bomb making training centre of the banned outfit.
