A person has been killed in a clash between two groups of villagers at Nakhrirchar village under Gopalganj sadar upazila.
At least five others were also injure din the clash.
The deceased is Kabir Sardar, 42, son of late Safar Sardar.
Locals said Sardars and Malliks had a longstanding dispute over establishing supremacy and ownership of a piece of land.
Following the enmity, the two groups engaged in altercation and scuffle over sand selling around 8am Friday. Later, they locked in a clash equipped with local weapons that left Kabir Sardar and five others injured.
Kabir was rushed to Gopalganj General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 9am.
Police detained seven people in connection with the incident.
Gopalganj sadar police station OC Selim Reza said additional police were deployed in the area.
