A jazz musical night performed by Imran Ahmed Quitent will be held at the Red Shift Coffee Lounge, Gulshan Ave on February 27th, at 7:00pm. Featuring tunes from the general jazz repertoire as well as original composed music, the event will be a treat for the fusion jazz aficionados.
Having opened for legendary John McLaughlin and Shai Maestro at last year’s premiere of Jazz and Blues Festival, Imran Ahmed has been mainly performing as part of the self-titled Imran Ahmed Quintet in Dhaka as well as collaborating with other artists. Trained at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, India’s premier institute for contemporary jazz music, Imran has been playing the guitar from a very young age.
The concert will have Imran on guitar, Robert Russell on piano, Towfiq Arfin on drums, Rahin Haider on saxophone, and Mohaimin Karim with bass.
