Ekushey book fair will begin as usual at 3pm and will be open for visitors until 8pm.
The authorities had to postpone the fair for about one hour as large quantity of books got damaged by the sudden rain on Wednesday. However, the fair was closed at 6:30pm for the day.
Dr Jalal Ahmed, member secretary of Ekushey Boi Mela Committee, told the Dhaka Tribune: "The fair will begin and continue as usual today. Electricity connections have also been repaired and there is no problem today."
A nor’wester accompanied by hailstorm and heavy rainfall swept over the capital on Wednesday. It also broke down many stalls including Daily Star booth and Bangla Academy Pavilion.
