Parambrata Chatterjee and Aparna Ghosh starrer Bhuban Majhi, a Liberation War drama, is currently being shot in Kushtia. A few released photos and videos showed us a glimpse of how the film’s cast and crew are having a great time working on the drama.
Fakhrul Areefen Khan, the director, shared how the team recently enjoyed a charming, moonlit night under the open sky, making the best of their times spent together. Despite having gruelling dawn-to-dusk shooting schedules, the actors have managed to enjoy any free time they’ve had.
To kill the monotony of their shoots, they even organised a few cricket matches where three teams under the leadership of lead actors. With Parambrata’s team, Team Nahir, finally defeating the rest.
“No particular ‘71 themed set has been created. The entire film is being mostly shot outdoors,” says Khan. The film will consist of wide screen shots as it is not being confined to a particular studio set. The National Award winning film-maker earned plaudits after making his debut documentary Al Badar.
In the film, Parambrata plays the role of Nahir Baul, a spiritual singer. Singers are usually not the type of people cut out for wars, but Nahir is inspired to join the struggle for independence by a young lady, Farida, played by Aparna Ghosh.
The director also praised the lead actors, especially Parambrata, saying, “He is a good performer and also a good person. He possesses the extraordinary ability to get into character, immediately after learning its space and time.”
Kalikaprasad is in charge of composing the songs for the film. Mamunur Rashid, Shushama Sarker, Nawshaba, Majnun Mijan, and singer Syed Waqeel Ahad are also part of the cast.
As was initially planned, the film went on the floor on February 4 and by March 10 the production set to complete shooting in Shelaidaha, Kushtia where the base camp for the shoots is located. Later, the team will shoot a few more scenes in Dhaka before wrapping up in Kolkata.
Bhuban Majhi’s filming is scheduled to conclude by September and the film is predicted to come out in December, this year.
