The prime accused of a murder case has been killed in a “gunfight” with police in Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah.
Sentu, 28, was killed in the “gunfight” which took place early Tuesday.
Moheshpur OC Aminul Islam Biplob said: “Sentu was the prime accused of a murder case filed over the death on a Saloon owner on February 18. He was arrested on Monday. ”
He said: “Sentu's associates opened fire at us when we conducted a drive at Holudpara ground along with Sentu to recover arms.”
In retaliation, police fired back that left Sentu dead.
Meanwhile, two police constables were injured in the incident.
The OC said Sentu's body was sent to Jhenaidah morgue for autopsy.
Police recovered the body of Saloon owner Akimul from Huludpara ground on February 18.
