The country’s police department and the United States have expressed eagerness to continue their cooperation for combating terrorism.
They agreed that intelligence and technological assistance would be exchanged between them and the cooperation would be strengthened through the exchange of training, a press release of Bangladesh Police said.
According to the press release, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat said this during a meeting with Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque at Bangladesh Police headquarters yesterday morning.
The US envoy also praised the initiatives of the ongoing community policing activities.
The two countries could combat issues like cybercrimes, transnational crimes and money laundering through cooperation, she said.
