Intra NSU Art & Photography Competition and Exhibition 2016 was organised by NSUAPC- North South University Art & Photography Club for the 12th time since 2000. It started off with a vision to provide a platform for the students of North South University (NSU) to showcase their creativity and skills when it comes to art or taking photographs.
For the first time, artwork and photographs have been exhibited together, along with a collection of vintage cameras and photography books written by many renowned photographers. Receiving 1,022 photographs from over 100 photographers and 35 artwork from 11 artists of NSU, 75 photographs from 38 photographers and 20 artworks from nine artists were selected for the exhibition. The judges for the photography competition were Saud Al Faisal, a pioneer character in the photographic society, and Ashraful Awal Mishuk, a professional photographer as well as an honorable faculty for Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and Hamiduzzam, renowned sculpture artist, for the artworks. A total of 16 awards will be given in different categories such as Life, Portrait, Architecture, Conceptual, Landscape and Mobile category. Three awards will be given for the best artwork exhibited.
The event was inaugurated by the vice chancellor in-charge of NSU, Dr Gour Govinda Goswami, Nasir Ali Mamum, a renowned photographer in Bangladesh and the director of Student Affairs at NSU.
