Police have detained two JMB men and a Shibir activist for their suspected involvement in the murder of a Hindu priest in Panchagarh.
The detainees are JMB members Khalilur Rahman, 45, Bablu Hossain, 40, and Shibir activist Jahangir Alam, 25.
Panchagarh Police Super said Gias Uddin Ahmed said: “The three suspects were detained in a drive conducted from Sunday night till Monday morning.
“We are interrogating them.”

However, he declined to give further details regarding the detention for the sake of investigation of the case.
Meanwhile, two separate cases were filed with Debiganj police station regarding the murder.
On the other hand, a human chain was formed at Bijoy intersection under the sadar upazila in protest to the murder.
Priest Joggeshwar Roy, 50, was slaughtered with a machete on the verandah of his house, on Sunday morning.
Besides, his neighbour Gopal Chandra Roy, 35, received bullet injuries as he tried to save the priest.
