Eight fake officials of Detective Branch (DB) of police have been arrested from Dhaka.
The identities of the arrestees could not be ascertained yet.
DB police arrested them from different areas of the capital in a drive conducted from Sunday night till Monday morning.
DMP DC Media Maruf Hossain Sardar confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
Meanwhile, the law enforcers also recovered a DB jacket, police logo, Handcuff, walkie-talkie, a toy pistol and seized a microbus during the drive.
Maruf Hossain said details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a briefing at DMP Media Centre later in the day.
