A group of Bangladeshi youths have taken the initiative to have a popular Ekushey February song sung in 11 foreign languages as well as in Bangla.
Singers from Malaysia, Lebanon, Germany, Nepal, India, France, Spain, Russia, the UK, China and Italy sang the first two lines of “Amar Bhai-er Rokte Rangano Ekushey February” in their own languages.
Team Guerrilla 1971 led by Nabid Salehin deserves the credit for the great move and released a 90-second video of the song on its Facebook page. It has since gone viral.
Netizens gave the project an enormous welcome and praised the song in their comments as the nation observes International Mother Language Day today.
In the video scroll, although Nabid Salehin claimed himself as the composer of the song, its composer is actually Shaheed Altaf Mahmud. Viewers have suggested that the error be corrected.
