Two brothers have been murdered allegedly by their nephew and his musclemen in Gubindal village under Singair upazila of Manikganj district.
The double murder took place on Sunday morning over ancestral property and borrowed money disputes, reports Bangla Tribune, a sistern concern of the Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased are Karim Molla, 50, his brother Tendul Molla, 45, residents of the village. Their cousin named Aziz Molla, 50 was also critically injured in the attack, who was kept on life support in Savar Enam Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the murders Singair police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiduzzaman said one Zahid and his accomplices equipped with lethal weapons swooped on Karim and Tendul in the village around 8am and hacked to his uncles indiscriminately. In the attack, the two died on the spot.
Besides, the gang injured about 10 local people when they approached to save the trio. Of them, seven people were admitted to different hospitals in critical condition.
The OC also said Zahid and his uncles had long been loggerheads over ancestral property dispute and borrowed money.
Zahid went into hiding soon after the murder and police were trying their best to arrest the alleged mastermind.
